I added gutters to redirect rainwater away from my home...

DIY Pizza Oven Has Tricks Up Its Sleeve
Looks so buttery! ❤
It is! 🤗🙌🏽🧚🏽♂️
Just love this one! Great find!
Thanks Ma! ❤️❤️❤️
Bro, try covering it with linen oil. It will polymerize and make the oven waterproof (at least, mostly). They do it with natural clay floors and tops in ecohouses.
Oh! I’ll look into that. Thanks for the tip! 🙌🏽🏆
just build a roof?
yes, that could help
Agree. I think a roof is the most effective solution. However, It takes up more space and costs more. What I’ve been hoping to do is add a lime plaster finish which is more weather resistant than clay plaster. It’s harder to find the materials for that kind of stuff locally, but what can I say I’ve been procrastinating 👨🏽🏭🤷🏽♂️🙇🏽♂️
@@Folktopia maybe look to upcylce some materials for a roof, there might be something for free in your area, like a tin sheet for the roof.
can't you cover it with some UV resistant greenhouse plastic to keep the rain off?
Its a great idea if I remember. Also, wind is an issue. I should cover it more often for sure 🤷🏽♂️✨
It looks great! Let’s make a pizza 😋
Fantastic! Let’s do it. Pizza 🍕 time!
When I see grovemade pricing, its a happy reminder that Im an adult who has purchased tools over the years. I can build a nicer, more durable version of their things for a fraction of the cost. As for their non wood products, unless their felt desk mats where put together by a Norse Goddess, you can buy those for much much less elsewhere. Grovemade exists because youtube advertising and people who like to waste money.
I’m glad I made my own stand and agree that there are lots of great affordable options for felt mats. The one thing that I’m still seriously considering is their linoleum and cork desk mat. I don’t think I can replicate it and I don’t see any dupes out there. Thanks for commenting and watching! ☀️👨🏽🏭👍🏽
Nice!
Start willow weaving whenever you want
No, it's not better. Not even close.😅
😂🤷🏽♂️
This makes me smile. My pup just had a hemilaminectomy 2days ago. We are at the beginning of all this 😢. This gives me hope
😂😂❤
I WOULD SUGGEST A FLUX CORE MIG WELDER.. A LOT EASIER IF YOU ARE INEXPERIENCED IN WELDING..

umm, you do realize there are irwin T1002EL4 4 inch vise grips available? ;)
it’s pretty much the same, but a bit chubbier up at the top. oh well! 😇
@@Folktopia your mod still works if someone has a long nose pliers they don't need, of course :)
awesome. now i got to get one to go with my adjustible wrench
Right on. Go for it! 🔧🗜️🧰
I like the simplicity of the bridge you made. Good job! I’m thinking of doing one for aesthetics, along with a dry creek bed.
Thanks! Mine is still holding up. I used cedar I had left over from building my fence and I love working with cedar. My dogs love sitting on the bridge from some reason ✨😁🐶
You are so lucky with that kydex. Factory leather sheath is horrible... The knife is my all time favorite EDC at the same time. 😁
Doesn’t the quenching harden the metal?
Copper becomes harder as it is hammered (known as work hardening). Heating makes it softer. Cool stuff.
That's some pro stitching! Nice and parallel. This is where I'd screw up and grab some glue. Great vid!
Thanks, Ralph! It’s kind of fun to sew, but tricky too 🙇🏽♂️☀️🐥
@@FolktopiaAre you the man who’s dog needed surgery on his spine while back ? Just that video showed up on my feed and I watched it. If so I was wandering how is your wee dog now thanks for reply.
@BigCatsAndWild Oh yes, he’s good, and now an old dog, living the good life with lots of naps and treats.
@@Folktopia Great to hear he recovered, and thanks for getting back to me all the best.
Well done! That leather looks great…
Thank you so much! It’s got me interested in learning about leather stitching. ✌🏾👨🏽🏭☀️
@@Folktopia awesome! I’m a complete outsider to that world but I think your stitching looked perfect!
Steaming is never a replacement for Soaking willow. You should soak willow until it is properly prepared and then steaming adds both the tiniest bit more flexibility, a beautiful waxy sheen and extends the time the prepared willow will still be weave-able. Mellowing also usually takes a day or two of just being wrapped in a blanket to further soften and make pliable the bark of brown willow.
That’s good information. Thanks for sharing. This year I harvested my willow in February and I’m wondering if that will somehow help when I soak it. In the past I must not be soaking it long enough, but I thought a week would be enough.
Gridfinity is such a cool system. I'm printing the first (of likely many, many) baseplates.
Sweet! It’s a great system and it is fun to put the printer to work. 👨🏽🏭✌🏾☀️
Love it 😍 ❤
Thank you, Laurie! ✌🏾🙏🏾⛰️
This is such a great idea and so well executed (as always). They all look beautiful. Linseed oil finish?
Thank you so much! I made the finish myself. It’s equal parts beeswax, linseed oil, and mineral spirits. The beeswax helps preserve a degree of grip on the wood I think.
Looks great! How long will it burn if totally damped down? All night? All day while away at work?
Good question. At the beginning you’re burning hotter, so tending more often and adding one piece of wood more often, maybe every hour or so. Once there’s a nice coal bed and the stove is loaded (but not overloaded) I’d say 4-6 hours. The way we use it, this is perfect.
@@Folktopia Thanks!
Thank you for showing how to make a harness. I completely emptied my bankaccount for my dog so i Dont have the funds to buy one.
LOL - SOme of the vocalizations (on fast forward) remind me of CaveMan movie starring Ringo Starr
Thank you! I never saw it, but I watched the trailer and it looks super funny :)
Question! I'm I northwest Florida. I make pine needle baskets. I'm interested in looking for willow. I don't know where to look or what to look for. Here, I think trees is the option. I don't think we have the kind that I see here.
Hi! The variety I have is Zone 4-5, but I found this one for Florida www.fann.org/plants/detail/salix-caroliniana There are some nurseries linked on the page. I think Willow trees can work depending on what look you are going for. You might check with your agricultural extension office to get the local scoop. They’re usually pretty helpful sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/find-your-local-office/
So many tools. Not really for beginners. Still helpful.
I totally see your point. Willow has been tough for me to learn on my own because of the specialized tools and the rarity of good prepared materials. I usually like to learn things by myself, but I can see how a class in willow basket making would be worthwhile.
@@Folktopia I don't think you need a class. You've stepped on the path and you know your next steps. If you want to make more large structures, I suggest you mess around with green hazel. It bends well. If you want baskets, I'd recommend English Ivy. It's very easy to get lots of.
Very nice
It keeps repeating itself. So cozy.
They’re living their best lives 🥰
Thanks for all the TigerMoth videos, really helping me in my purchasing decision. Do you still own it or have you moved on?
Hi and thanks! Yes, we still have the Tigermoth. Our kids are grown now, so trying to figure out how that changes things. We have a few more seasons before changing things up-maybe simplifying things to backpacking 🙏🏾✨
@@Folktopia Makes total sense, we are kinda at the opposite end. Just had our first and I'm looking to share more of my hobbies with my family. Some good deals to be had on the TigerMoth right now, so it's been nice to see how you have used yours over the years. Super cool content, look forward to seeing more!

Hi it’s me Alex
hi alex!
Our frenchie Stella just went through this Like a week and a half ago she was acting weird and wouldn’t jump and it progressed over a few days and she was panting really bad and in a lot of pain, we took her to the vet and when she came back she was not using her back legs at all We had to get an emergency surgery in the morning and had to stay up all night with her, luckily she managed to sleep most of the night and we got her in for surgery that morning What makes me sad is she’s not even 2 yet and playing is her favorite thing, it’s all she does and she loves to play rough She had her surgery and stayed in the vet for 3 days, it was a success Now flash forward to current day and we have her in a play pen all day so she heals but we got lucky and she’s healing really fast, today she’s even trying to play again and using her back legs pretty effectively already, she tried to thrash her toy but we can’t let her injure herself again Also she was a stage 4, she had a ruptured disc and had no back leg movement but still had some feeling in them I hope that it doesn’t happen again
It’s so very difficult to go through a trauma with a friend and see their life change. And to live with the worry of it happening again! I hope you can find a way through and enjoy the journey together with these joyful buddies 🐶🐾
How does this have only 1100 views in 3 years???
Hey, thanks for noticing. I feel the same way 😅
I love it! Keep going!
they are so cute :D
🙌🏼😮👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Amazing! 🤩 Love it!
Thank you! 😁 You would love this!!!
Try to walk it little by little
How has this held up?
surprisingly well. its all still intact. the edges are sound. the area with weight on it got compacted a little bit over time so there’s a little dip that holds a puddle, but it’s much better than the original problem.
hello, what stage of IVDD does your buddy have? is he totally paralyzed when got his surgery!
He had partial paralysis and pain. He couldn’t functionally move his back legs, and he had a really tight belly and looked very uncomfortable. He couldn’t control his bladder. So I think he was technically stage 2.
